Graphic reading: Where Tomorrow Begins-The Town School for Boys Campaign
A student showing thumbs-up.

The future I see at Town is where every boy graduates with a strong sense of self and the desire to make a difference in the world. This campaign launches that vision.”

A Town School education
starts with a handshake
and lasts a lifetime.

We want Town to be as strong as that morning handshake because we know where it leads: to young men who are resilient, adaptable, curious, and eager for a challenge. To be our best, we have to be responsive—to our students, to our city, and to the world. The Where Tomorrow Begins campaign gives us the resources to fulfill that promise.
Rooted in our values and shaped by our strategic plan, this campaign has raised over $34.9 million toward our goal of $40 million to support immediate innovation and secure long-term fiscal sustainability. With this early leadership support, we built the Engineering Studio, started to increase salaries for our faculty, added funds for families receiving financial assistance, and began to implement a school-wide character education program.
There’s more to do. With your support, we are committed to expanding Town’s culture of scholarly pursuits, building out programming for creative thinking and the arts, and delivering a pioneering Engineering Thinking Program. We will grow our endowment for financial assistance and deepen our character development initiatives across grades K–8. And we will become an industry leader in supporting our talented teachers.

This campaign allows us to make accelerated investments in our strategic plan, far beyond what we could achieve within our operating budget. We are funding transformative and long-lasting initiatives benefiting our entire community.”

Priorities

01
Our Academic Experience / $10M

Our strategic plan challenged us to prepare students for the world ahead. These campaign initiatives ensure that our academic experience remains relevant, challenging, and inspiring.

In this era of rapid innovation and change, our boys need their school to adapt with them and prepare them for the world ahead. We need to build on the skills that have always been at the root of the Town journey now. We can’t afford to wait.”

To meet the challenges of an ever-changing world, the learning experiences at Town must continue to evolve to inspire curiosity, resilience, and a bold sense of purpose. Guided by Town’s deep commitment to academic excellence, this campaign allows for thoughtful investments to ensure that each boy grows into a compassionate leader ready to shape the future.”

02
Our Community / $12.1M

Town is defined not just by what we learn but also by how we learn, how we help others, and how we construct our own moral compass. Two crucial initiatives bring our values to life.

We are creating robust programs for developing character and emotional intelligence and making strategic investments to enhance the curriculum. With our initial rollout in the Lower School, our fourth grade leaders are reflective, appreciative of one another, and empathetic. We need to ensure we sustain this growth through Upper School.”

Peggy Laurent
Head of Lower School

Initiatives
Continue to Implement Our
Character Education Program
Be a Leader in Providing Wraparound
Financial Assistance

Town’s secret sauce is its warm and inclusive community. When each boy feels a strong sense of belonging, he can engage respectfully and meaningfully with a diversity of perspectives. This is the hallmark of an excellent education.”

Tonia Karr
Former Board Member, P’26

03
Our Faculty / $15.5M

Our faculty are the heart of our work. They are a transformative force in the lives of our students. And yet, teachers today face more challenges than ever before, including high levels of burnout and, in the Bay Area, a steep cost of living. Data confirms that in San Francisco and surrounding counties, an annual income below $109,700 is considered low-income. Reaching our campaign goal will allow us to support our teachers in strategic, innovative ways so they can thrive.

The biggest determining factor in academic success is teacher quality. We are designing a system that supports our faculty in their professional growth and compensates them for all they give to our boys every day.”

The Impact of Giving
Every contribution to the campaign advances the implementation of our strategic vision. Below are just a few examples of the impact of giving.

A gift of $725K secures the funds to hire a new STEM and engineering teacher.

A gift of $250K enables us to offer a faculty member a shared appreciation mortgage (SAM).

A gift of $100K allows us to enhance our performing arts curriculum with two new elective classes.

Two gifts of $60K provide financial assistance, including crucial wraparound funds, for two students.

Gifts between $5K–$10K allow us to compensate long-tenured faculty with retention bonuses.

A gift of $5K provides students with meaningful experiences within our service learning curriculum.

Three gifts of $2.5K send a group of students and faculty to a national engineering competition.

Ways to Give

Gifts to the campaign are fully tax-deductible. We look forward to sharing more with our community at K-8 class events in the coming months.
